Homemade Mocha Cold Brew Coffee (Vegan-Friendly)

Every single morning, without fail, I drink my homemade cold brew coffee. This past year, instead of just drinking cold brew, I started drinking mocha cold brew at my husband's grand suggestion! If you're curious how to make your own at home, I can assure you it is extremely easy. I'm going to show you how!

I got my cold brew coffee maker and coffee bean grinder on Amazon Prime. You can get the same items I use to make my coffee by clicking the icons up above.

What You Need:

Cold Brew Maker

Coffee Grinder

Whole Coffee Beans

Chocolate Ripple (vegan-friendly!), or any chocolate milk

Ice

Mug ;)

How To:

Take note, you will need to do steps 1-4 the night before you want to drink your mocha cold brew!!

Step 1: Grind Coffee Beans on COARSE setting.

I usually dump in enough about this much (sometimes even a little more) coffee beans... It all depends on how strong you want your cold brew.

Step 2: Dump your coffee grounds into the coffee filter that came with your cold brew maker. The amount of beans I ground filled it up halfway. Sometimes I grind more and fill it up about 3/4 full.

Step 3: Twist the filter back into the lid, and fill up your cold brew pitcher with water.

I use filtered water from the refrigerator. Mine counts ounces as it comes out, and I always put 36 oz. of water in.

Step 4: Insert the lid/filter into your full pitcher and twist tightly. Shake it up good! Put it in the fridge overnight.

The Next Morning...

Step 5: Fill a mug 1/4 - 1/2 full with ice. Get out your cold brew coffee and Chocolate Ripple (or chocolate milk). I use Ripple because I like the taste. It is a plant-based drink, for all my vegans!

Step 6: Remove the lid with the attached coffee filter. Next, remove the coffee filter from the lid. (You'll want to rinse and wash the filter soon so it stays nice since it is used each time you make cold brew.)

Pro tip: BEFORE you put your lid back on the coffee pitcher, rinse it thoroughly. Coffee grounds are always stuck on it, and you don't want that getting in your nice fresh cold brew.

NOW you can put the lid back on your coffee pitcher and twist it almost closed, so you can still pour out of it.

Step 7: Fill your mug half-way with cold brew.

Step 8: Fill the other half of your mug with Chocolate Ripple (or chocolate milk).

Step 9: Stir.

Step 10: Ahhh, enjoy.

Keep the rest of your cold brew coffee in the fridge, and enjoy it over the next several days... or less, if you like to drink more than one cup of this a day. ;)

xx, M.
